Swine

“Rhyne Rimes and Ash Songs”

Well, in a statement I find I’m saying to myself all the time, here is yet another really interesting one on MuteAnt. Swine consist of Jon Cooke (laptop, producer), Tim Hill (treated saxophones), and Michael Fairfax (sound sculptures). Wait, what are sound sculptures, you ask? Well, check them out here – he uses (mostly) wood, like, say, a big tree branch, and creates a stringed instrument with it. They look amazing and, if this album is any indication, they sound amazing too. As for the music on “Rhyne Rimes and Ash Songs”, I’d say if you’re planning on creating a haunted house for Halloween, this would be an excellent soundtrack. No tricks, this one is a treat.
